Dani Black


The young, prolific composer and singer sensation from São Paulo! Author of Brazilian students anthem “Trono de Estudar”, recorded by Chico Buarque, Zelia Duncan, Arnaldo Antunes and Felipe Catto among others.

Dani Black was born in 1987 in São Paulo, Brazil and nowadays he is known as an important name of the new generation of MPB.

He has been quoted as a highlight of the Brazilian music in various interviews by big names such as Milton Nascimento, Djavan, Chico César, Lenine, Zélia Duncan, Moska or Ney Matogrosso.

He was elected by Billboard Brazil revelation artist of 2011 and won a series of composition festivals around Brazil.

He participated in the record of Maria Gadú’s DVD, interpreting in duet her song “Aurora”.

He participated in the DVD “Aos vivos agora” by Chico César, calling out attention as a virtuous guitar player and interpreter. Dani also toured around Brazil, Europe and Argentina as a special guest of Chico in the divulgation tour of that same DVD.

Late 2011 he released his first record called “Dani Black” that Marcelo Mariano, Luís Paulo Serafim and the conducter Paulo Calasans produced and arranged. “Dani Black” was presented in several capitals of Brazil and in Portugal at a World Music festival called “Vodafone Mexefest”.

He is one of the most recorded artists of his generation as he has songs recorded by artists like Maria Gadú, 5 a seco, Pedro Mariano, Ney Matogrosso, or Elba Rabalho, just to name a few.

Dani Black also wrote the soundtrack of the João Falcão’s play “Uma noite na lua” starring Gregório Duvivier that was elected one of the top 10 in display at Rio de Janeiro.

His long-awaited second studio album is out now and it’s called “Dilúvio”.
