Marcia Castro


Marcia Castro was born in Bahia and begun her musical career at 16. In 2006 she was awarded with the Braskem for culture and art, major prize for the independent music from Bahia which led to the recording of her first album “ Pecadinho”. In 2008 Marcia, after settling in São Paulo, began a journey through Globo serials soundtracks, nominations for prizes for best Pop/rock singer and recordings with Tom Zé for his “Estudando a Bossa-Nova”. Apart from that she was invited by the great Argentinian singer Mercedes Sosa to perform in her shows in Germany, Israel and Brazil.

2012 was the time for her second album “De pés no chão” and another tour around Brazil.

In 2014 came “Das coisas que surgem” and the participation in the project Pipoca Moderna with historical Brazilian singers like Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso and Ney Matogrosso.
