SALOMÃO SOARES

Born and raised in Cruz do Espírito Santo, in the countryside of Paraíba, and currently living in São Paulo, Salomão is a pianist, arranger, and composer. He has stood out as one of the great revelations of the new generation of Brazilian musicians and has shared stages with important names in Brazilian music such as Hermeto Pascoal, Toninho Horta, Hamilton de Holanda, Leny Andrade, Filó Machado, Nenê, Vinicius Dorin, Itiberê Zwarg, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Toninho Ferragutti (with whom he recorded a duo album), among many others.

He is the winner of the MIMO Instrumental Award 2017, finalist of the Piano Competition at the Montreux Festival 2017 – Switzerland and winner of the New Talents Award at the Savassi Festival 2018, in Belo Horizonte (MG). He has performed in several festivals or tours around the world, as recently in Spain, alongside the singer and composer Vanessa Moreno and throughout Brazil, as in SESC Jazz, one of the most renowned jazz festivals in Latin America, also as a special guest of Hermeto Pascoal.

His discography begins with Alegria de Matuto – Salomão Soares Quarteto (2018), then Toninho Ferragutti & Salomão Soares (2018) and still in the same year, Salomão Soares & Nivaldo Candido Duo – Recorded and released in Switzerland. In 2019, he releases Colorido Urbano – Salomão Soares Trio, Chão de Flutuar – Salomão Soares & Vanessa Moreno and in 2021, Yatra-Tá -Salomão Soares & Vanessa Moreno.  For 2023, in addition to Espirais, Interior, his solo album, will be available on digital platforms.

Recently, she was part of the Rosa dos Ventos project, a show that took four great pianists to the stage, such as André Mehmari, Tiago Costa, Hercules Gomes, besides Salomão, at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. In December, he performed alongside Vanessa Moreno at the Montreux Jazz Festival, in the Rio de Janeiro edition.
